Essen Transport Ltd. was founded in 1987 by Ed Elias of Winkler, Manitoba . Essen 's first truck was a 1978 S Series International which supplied Coulee Agro, a local fertilizer company with bulk fertilizers, chemicals and anhydrous ammonia. A 1987 Freightliner complete with a sleeper and a pinstriped Peterbilt formed the original fleet of three.

What's New April 12, 2006 - Essen Transport owns a Truck Driving Simulator
(Safe-SimT) which is an innovative training tool for their current drivers and new hires. Safe-SimT give drivers real-time, hands-on, training and evaluation on hazard perception, defensive driving, speed and space management and a host of other critical safety training issues. Drivers are challenged with high-risk as well as routine driving situations that help them develop and hone the skills that will save money--and--lives-- in the real world.
